To optimize the use of our pools, we program various classes and activities in the indoor and the outdoor pool areas. We avoid scheduling simultaneous activities so that one pool may be available for lap swimmers at all times. Our swim coaches encourage all lap swimmers to inquire about swimming tips anytime you see them around the pool. Come on down and let them assist you in providing that extra motivation and encouragement to keep you swimming like a fish! In the event of a special program, we will post a notice two weeks prior to a change in schedule.

Benefits of Water Aerobics Classes
Looking for a workout that's easy on the joints, but still boasts a cardiovascular and strength training workout? Water aerobics is all of that rolled into one and a comfortable way to keep moving!
Cardio fitness is generally the focus, though our routines can help you improve strength, flexibility and balance, too. Water aerobics can burn on average between 400 - 500 calories per hour. Working out at least three times per week can provide maximum health and fitness gains, such as:
- Strength and Toning: Moving in water requires 12-14 times more muscle resistance vs. land exercise.
- Flexibility and Range of Motion: It's easier to move your joints while submerged.
- Cardiovascular Fitness: Aerobics activity stimulates HDL (good cholesterol), while deep breathing increases oxygen consumption.
- Weight Loss: You'll burn more calories in water due to resistance. Walking for 30 minutes on land burns 135 calories while in water burns 264!
- Endurance: You can exercise longer in water without added worry about overheating.
Water aerobics may be just the thing for seniors, pregnant women, arthritis sufferers, those with low back pain or even for osteoporosis! Water buoyancy provides support to reduce stress on your joints. In water, you're also less likely to become injured or to be achy and sore later. Not to mention, water pressure on the legs assists circulation.
