October 17, 2016
On October 5th, The Hills Health Club and Wellness Center announced the closing of the health club, after 37 years serving the Westbank area of Austin, effective October 31, 2016. We are honored to have had the privilege of serving this fine community.
We are very happy to announce that the health club will be converted to a Bright Horizons early education and preschool center. Bright Horizons is the leading provider of high-quality early education and preschool. They have been in business for 30 years and operate more than 875 child care and early education centers, with the capacity to serve approximately 100,000 children in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Ireland, Canada and India. Their programs empower children from infancy on to become confident, successful learners, and secure caring people. They strive to grow young readers, scientists, artists, and explorers who are engaged and curious. Their programs invite children to approach school and academics with skills, confidence, and a drive for excellence. Bright Horizons is a New York Stock Exchange listed company traded under the symbol BFAM.
For 37 years, The Hills has been an adult-focused health club. Going forward, we are proud that our campus will serve pre-school age children of the area through the highest caliber childcare provider in the industry well into the future. Bright Horizons is accredited by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), a standard difficult to achieve in the industry. Conversion of the building will take place during the first half of 2017 and open in time for the fall semester.
Again, we thank the many members who have entrusted us with their fitness and wellness needs. We are especially thankful for the service of our wonderful employees. We will be forever thankful that we were able to share such a significant part of our lives with you all. We wish everyone the best in their pursuit of health and wellness.
Yours in Good Health,
The Hills Health Club and Wellness Center Management
